We believe that if you can allow yourself to be bored and let your mind wander, wild and beautiful things can happen.

own of 2020 — a project that was created partially to distract founder Chris from the bleakness of pandemic life, but also to brighten the days of his loved ones. Wrapture was a Christmas greeting with a purpose: to celebrate what it really means to give a gift, to share good wishes, and to get lost in the wonder of print and pattern.
The pandemic brought boredom back in a way Chris hadn’t experienced since childhood, but boredom is a sweet spot for him—and a teacher. As a kid, he learned to engage with his creativity to entertain himself. The first Wrapture batch was a result of that initial spark, and it took on a new life as friends used the paper to wrap their holiday gifts, showed it off on Instagram, and even framed prints in their homes.
About Chris
Wrapture founder/artist Chris Larson has a BFA in Graphic Design and got interested in patterns and gift wrapping while selling fine papers from all over the world in a stationery shop. He has worked as a designer and art director for a global beauty brand. He’s also a creative force that loves to collaborate with cherished co-conspirators to produce album art, logos & branding, fashion shows, and more.
Chris loves: ‘70s sitcoms. X-Men comics from the ‘80s. A good stoop hangout. Dining out alone. Foggy days. Beach days. People who connect consciously. Days off with no plans. Running.
Chris’s inspiration: The designs of nature — especially botanicals, deep sea creatures, and microbes. Tile and textiles from around the world. Vintage children’s books. Tarot. Fashion illustration. Queer culture. Resilient people.
